Merry Christmas

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We had my parents here at the last minute. My grandfather woke up Saturday morning and had the ambulance come pick him up they thought he had a heart attack so my mom & dad drove up to see him so they stopped to drop off Christmas presents since they were passing thru. To make along story short my grandfather didn't have a heart attack but they haven't concluded what exactly is going on he is still in the hospital but my parents came back late Sunday night and spent Christmas here and had early lunch then they drove home. Hopefully, my grandfather is gonna be a-ok and will get to go home soon. Last I heard they were doing more tests.

So on to Christmas.....

Last night (Christmas eve) we did the Santa stuff. J fell asleep while putting H down so it left my mom and me to finish wrapping and put toys together. We didn't go to bed until 2am. They were my first house guests, they loved the house.

I got up at 7am to start cooking the turkey so they could eat and hit the road. The girls got up at about 8am and S was soo suprised to see her presents around the tree. S got tired of unwrapping since she helped H with her stuff too. I should have put more stuff together for them. Next year I will.

Here are a couple pics...

Checking out H's toy..S is helping her figure it all out.

As u can tell by her face she wanted this a dr kit..

My mom & the girls. See S's pjs..those are the ones I sewed up for her while in AZ.

H testing our her toy. J is trying to make her hat stand up.

S in her bounce house. It was NASTY outside so she couldn't play outside with it. Everytime we go to a fair or festival they have these and the OLDer kids don't pay attention and trample on the little kids (where are the parents?) so I don't like S getting in them. We picked this up at the end of summer this yr in AZ so it was on clearance. It has a little ball pit then the entrance to the bouncing area. H was scared of it.

This was one of the first pics of the morning.

The girls together.

S riding her scooter, I know she can't wait to get outside with it.

Here is my new KITCHEN!! See I have been busy!!

That time of year

We have been busy so I haven't had much time to keep up with the blog. I can't believe this year is almost over with!
Our Christmas Tree!!

Shelby made her first Gingerbread house this year. I made the icing up for her and J help her put the graham crackers togethers. She has so much fun putting it together and ate more candy then she put on the house.

Neato

I love when things change and I can play with new features, Thanks Blogger!!

Our Saturday was busy!! We went to Home Depot and Lowes to check out some stuff we want to buy and priced them out. While we were at Lowes we ran into a guy that removed trees so we had him come out and remove a dead pinetree for us. They had it down in no time. S watched from the window. I am glad its down since it opens the backyard up a little. We really need to do some raking and get the pinecones up.

Anyone know how to make the cinammon scented pinecones??

I am mad with the newspaper people here. I didn't get my paper today so I called to let them know. She said they would come out and deliver...well guess what todays paper never showed up!! GRRR!! I hope I have one tomorrow morning!!

J put out some more Christmas decor tonight. I think its gonna look cute once we are done.

It feels

like FRIDAY and it's been driving me crazy. I feel like tomorrow should be Saturday. We had our first dinner as a family in the house tonight. J was able to get home in time to eat with us. The kiddos had bath time and H was soo tired so she crashed pretty early. I started working on the Christmas decor for outside. It was very windy and cold outside so my lil toes were frozen.

We are gonna work on getting the house situated a little bit more this weekend. J has a couple of little projects to do. Our bedroom needs some rearranging since the furniture is too heavy to do by myself. I hope to have that room complete by this weekend. J has boxes in the computer room so hopefully he will get that done too so it won't look like a tornado in here.

I haven't found a home for my sewing machine, she is still boxed up.

Monday, December 04, 2006

So

The house doesn't look like a complete tornado anymore. J got a couple hrs off Fri evening so we unpacked ALOT!! I can actually get my car in the garage now, yippee. We have never has a garage with a door, just carports that u park under. I hope when J gets back we will get the rest finished up he will have room to fit in truck in too.

I have fallen in LOVE with my washer and dryer. I have never loved washing laundry so much, altho I might take back those words once they become old news haha. It was pretty cold last night and yucky today so I had to turn the heat on finally. I feel sorry for J being out in this weather. I hope he doesn't get sick and bring it home to us.

So besides unpacking and doing the mom stuff thats all I have been up too. I am planning on meeting up with some Bragg ladies later this week hopefully my schedule won't get messed up.

Happy!

Well, we had a great Thankgiving. We drove down to my parents house to spend a couple of days down in SC. My brother and his family drove up it was great being able to spend time with them. I think the kids (S & her cousin) said Nana a billion times & of course my mom loved every minute.

Monday we closed on the house and our movers came on Tuesday to deliver our household goods. The garage is loaded with boxes to unpack. We had a couple of things missing. J's dresser, which is a highboy has a broken leg on it. I have NO CLUE why they would ship it with the legs still attached. So its laying on its side until that gets fixed. Thankfully its all minor stuff. I have already dug out my sewing machine!! J is "away" so I haven't gotten far with unpacking, the kids...well H wants to be attached to my hip so that doesn't give much time for unpacking. It will get done eventually. The house is a mess which drive me nuts!

I am really happy to be in this house. It is weird tho. I don't hear other neighbors coming and going like we did in apartments. The kids can run since we don't have neighbors below us. I am glad that we bought and didn't choose to live on post. We have lots of room to grow into this house.

I brewed my first pitcher of sweet tea. Walmart had my FAVORITE chocolate covered cherries, Cella's. One of my favorite tv shows came on tonight (Greys Anatomy) and I got to DVR it to watch it when it the kids were asleep. What more could a girl ask for, ice cream haha just kidding!!

My washer and dryer are being delivered tomorrow. I can't wait to start a load of laudry, is that sad?? Usually I don't look forward to laundry but its like getting a new toy or car. I can't wait to try it out.

Frozen Toes

BURRR, its Cold!! Wind, rain and no sun calls for some nasty weather! We haven't done much because of the weather. A fireplace and some hot chocolate are calling my name!

Walk thru

Well, we did our walk thru yesterday. The carpet is down and the paint is on the wall. I wish I would have picked a darker color on the wall. The vinyl roll was laying in the garage and it was to be laid today.

It doesn't look like we will be in before Thanksgiving so hopefully J can get a pass so we can go out of town.

Yada, yada, yada...

the house saga continues...

Yesterday, I found a house that I wanted to show J since it was a possibility for us to get. So we went last night for J to check it out. We put in an offer on it this morning. This house was the same price as the first house but it was further away from post. We had up to 24 hours before we would know if they accepted our offer. Well our realtor contacted me this afternoon and guess what?? The seller of the original house wanted to offer the house at the appraisal price. We had to make a decision before they accepted our offer on the 2nd house so we could withdrawal our contract.

Sooooo, since we are getting a pretty good deal on the original house we decided to go ahead and take it. I hope this was the right move!! Hopefully this is the end of my drama otherwise, I might become gray headed overnight!

Tomorrow we are going to do a walk-thru to see that the repairs were done. This place is gonna look pretty inside with fresh paint, carpet and the new flooring in the kitchen. It will be wonderful to be able to get in before Thanksgiving since our paperwork was at the closing stage with USAA. I guess we will see what happens!

Hunting again

So the seller of the orginal house doesn't want to drop his price. We reviewed the appraisal and our realtor believes it should have appraised a little higher. Things happen for a reason. I was upset with that house but I feel better about it now. A couple of new houses just went on the market that look like better options for us.

J is back at work so I went ahead and started house hunting with the kids and our realtor. We hit a handful of houses today. This time I remembered the camera, so I can let J take a look then we can go check them out together once we narrow them down.

Thanks for all the comments!!

Wednesday, November 15, 2006

I am

mad, sad, angry, upset, disappointed.

It's the house yep just when I thought my life in this hotel was going to be OVER!! The appraisal came back 7,000 lower than our contract amount. UNREAL!! We have NO CLUE as to why it appraised so low. I am HOPING and PRAYING that USAA will have answers for us tomorrow. Houses in this area are going from 10-20K more that our offer was so this was the last thing we expected to happen. I wonder if this appraisal person even knew what he was doing.

I guess, we are going back to square one. My heart was set on that house! I need some prayers!!

Milestone

H has teeth!! One is up and another one is coming, its the bottom teeth. She is being a brave lil girl trying to stand without holding onto anything. She is will be 9 mths on the 20th gosh time has flown by.

I had to write it here so I won't forget the dates for the baby book.

Friday, November 03, 2006

Good day!

Oh its been a wonderful day for us. We met with the inspector today. The inspection went really well the repairs are minor and most we already noted in our contract to get repaired. The inspector was awesome! Our realtor recommended him and I am really happy that we used them. It was thru Home Check and I had the report complete with pictures within 5 hours of the inspection being completed.

Our mortgage lady who is thru our credit union in our hometown has been lally gagging around and not returning my phone calls. I hate getting the run around so I moved on to USAA. I am not sure why I didn't just go thru them to begin with because they are wonderful. We began the process all over again with them. The best thing of all we got an even LOWER interest rate. PLUS, we will get money back from USAA for using the Movers Advantage program along with getting the loan thru them.

I hope we have great weekend!

Exploring

I am so amazed at how well I know the area already. J has been asking me how to get places. Today, I finally ventured to Joanns & Hobby Lobby. I just went window shopping tho. As I was leaving Hobby Lobby I notice someone left a purse in a cart in the parking lot. I went and turned it in to the manager I hope whoever it belonged to got it back. The stores here are all in the same area and can basically hop from one to the next. They have a couple of stores I have never been too so dangerous. I can't wait to try out a couple of resturants here too.

Tomorrow we have the home inspection!!

The Verdict!!

IT'S OURS!!

I am excited we close in 16 days, hopefully it won't change. Hopefully the contractors will get busy and if the paperwork gets done on time I will might be unpacking while cooking my turkey haha!

Monday, October 30, 2006

24 hours

The contract has been signed and we are waiting to hear if our offer was accepted for the house. We will know in the next 24 hours!! If everything goes thru and our closing date doesn't change we could be in the house before Thanksgiving. They are replacing the carpet thru out the house, painting the walls & replacing the flooring in the kitchen.

A little about the house. It has 3 bedrooms 2 baths a decent size living room and kitchen. The backyard is a nice size for the kids to run around. This house is a little bit closer to Bragg than the other two. S will start school here and its seems to be a pretty good school, its year round tho...not sure how I feel about that we will see when she starts I guess.

We have been living in apartments since we got married, upstairs units at that so having room inside and out for the kids to run wild will be wonderful! I am trying not to get too excited until we hear back on our offer.

The other houses are still options just in case it falls thru. We have looked at older houses that we would need to put some love into up to new construction. We went with our gut on our decision and hopefully it will be the best choice for us. I guess only time will tell.

House hunting

We have been house hunting for the past two days with our realtor. I never realized how stressful it can be. The kids have been great while we check out all these houses. We have seen between 25-30 houses and we have 3 that are possibilities. Here is the house that is our #1 choice as of this moment, haha. We forgot the camera on the first day so I didn't get pic of the other 2 yet.

On the road again!!

For the final leg of our journey!! Hubby is packing up both vehicles as we speak. The girls are getting as much sugar as possible from the grandparents. Luckily we only have 3-4 hrs ahead of us. S loves the DVD player in the car so it won't be to awful to con her into getting back in for lil drive again.

I am excited and nervous Ft. Bragg here we come!

~~Update~~

We are here safe and sound!!!

A bit closer

We have safely arrived in SC. We are at my parents house for a couple of days. Orginally we planned on visiting J's grandmother who lives up in the GA mountains but the girls and I caught a virus that seems to be going around. We didn't want to chance getting her sick so we are going to plan another trip to see her.

We got pre-approved for a mortgage!! I can't wait to go house hunting.

Howdy

I just wanted to give a little update since its been awhile. We left Arizona last friday and got to San Antonio on Saturday. We spent the day at SeaWorld. I have a few pics to share but I'll do that when I have more time. We are in Georgia now we got here early Monday. The girls did wonderfully with the long drive. They sure were happy to get out of their car seats for a while. We are here for a couple more days. We are going to head up to the Georgia mountains and Augusta to visit family. That is our last stop before hitting Ft. Bragg. Our household goods arrived in NC today. We are enjoying our last few days here with the family. J is camping tonight and tomorrow is a full day of shopping for me and the gals. I'll blog more later.....

I hope everyone that reads here is doing well. I miss my sewing machine and my bed.

Little Mermaid

DD wants to be lil mermaid for Halloween. I used this Simplicity pattern 9919. I completed the top but the bottom isnt done yet. Here is a peak at that it looks like now. I still need to add the ruffles on the bottom and around the waist. It is large on her but she will be able to have it as dress up clothes for a while. I am gonna work on getting it to fit better for Halloween. I was in a rush to get it done.

I found out that chiffon is not the easiest thing to sew with.

A friend asked me to sew up a scrub top for her so I also finished that and its in the mail so I am hoping she will take a pic for me. I hope it fits her.

Blabbing....

What a day!!

My SIL had her ultrasound today but the lil stinker was being modest and didn't want to show off for them. I woke up anxious to her the news. I really hope its a lil boy but of course we will take whatever God wants us to have.

I got everything related to moving and USAA taken care of today. I love USAA they have awesome customer service and rarely screw things up. Hopefully I will get a good realtor to deal with & our auto insurance will be cheaper than it is here in AZ, woot!

J is away and lil miss S asked for him mulitple times today. That was my first experience with trying to explain her. I kept it to 3 yr old language and I think she kinda understands. Tonight at bedtime S shocked me....Saying " I have a monster in my room". This is after she is all tucked in...so I go back in and reassure her of monsters not being real. I thought I had a couple of years before we started the monster talk. So....she ended up in my bed! Grr, so I am getting H to sleep and here is S in bed too. I am nursing H and S says, momma I need my teddy bear he isn't asleep and I need to do like u do to H. So I said sure go get him and get back in bed its past your bedtime. What does she do? Yep u guessed it pretends to nurse her teddy bear to sleep! She is still laying in the bed with her shirt up with teddy. At least she wasn't worried about monsters anymore. She usually sleeps with her baby doll but tonight its her teddy daddy sent when he was in Iraq.

To end it with a BARGAIN....

On a message board a lady posted about a typo error about some baby jeans on Old Navy. They were listed for .01 each. So "thinking" that this would never get thru the system I ordered. Well, I scored UPS delivered them today. The girls have jeans for a LONG time. I am still shocked that they are sitting in my living room. They are so cute!

Rub a dub dub

I got bubbles in my tub...

(Click pics to enlarge)

S usually shares bathtime with H so tonight she had a bath party. She had a nice warm bath with mountains and mountains of bubbles, she was so happy. I was ready to jump in myself!

S got a digital camera a couple mths ago as a late birthday present from the grandparents. She has gotten really good at taking pictures without chopping off heads. So I was taking some video of H crawling and S asked to take a picture of H & I, so I said yes..check it out a pretty good pic of us. U can really see how much H looks like me in this pic.

Stuff

J is done with the flying portion of school...woooweee!! Everything is working out just right. I hope next week moves faster than the weeks have been. Graduation is set, movers are scheduled. Leave & clearing papers are in hand. We are getting closer to leaving.

H is CRAWLING and trying to pull herself up. She hasn't pulled up on her feet but she has figured out how to on her knees. No sight of teeth yet but I sure hope they are coming. She has hit the mommy don't leave me phase or I walk in the room and she starts whining for me. Silly Girl!!

so anyway....

This weekend we hit up the books store and I left with two new books that I am gonna take on our trip. Shelby also picked up a Strawberry Shortcake book. We have been reading it all week at bedtime the pictures are so bright and pretty. While in the kids section I saw a knitting book for a $1.20 and it had some pretty nice patterns in it so I snagged it up.

Today was a good mail day. I got some flannel fabric that I ordered thru a coop. I don't have any plans for it tho.

Toy & a Top

I finally ventured to The Squirrel's Nest and found a new toy that I have wanted to buy. It's a Clover Bias tape maker. I thought it would save me some moola and a headache or two.

I made a PJ top to match the pants I made S. I am not impressed with the sleeves when she tried it on. I am gonna play with it and see what I can do to make it fit better. Making hems are not my favorite thing do especially on curves.

Rain rain

go AWAY!! Normally I wouldn't be complaining but its interferring with J's school. I don't wanna get stuck here any longer since our notice to vacate has been turned in and being in a hotel would really stink.

Praying for clear & sunny skies!

I'm in Love!

The girls on CinCHouse are doing monthly craft-a-long and the theme this month is a favorite memory. When I hit Walmart this week I found some fabric that I had to buy, perfect for this craft-a-long. It brings back memories of living in NY and going back to visit after we moved.

So I sewed up a pair of PJ's for S and of course for myself. What girl doesn't want to sleep or lounge around in a sweets! The pair for S are big she will probably be able to wear them when she is 5yrs old. This is my first sewn article of clothing for myself. I love love love this print. Best thing of all they fit me perfectly! I'm in love, I love my pants! I think I used love one too many times haha.

(click on pics to enlarge)

So a favorite memory behind the pants goes back to my family. After every meal usually a after our dinner settled in our bellies my aunt or grandmother would bring on the desserts. Along with the desserts was a hot pot of coffee. We would sit in her screened in porch in the backyard(away from the bugs)reminiscing on life. Who did this and whats going on with so n so, just general chit chat amoung us girls. My family is from Long Island, NY they all have that northern accent going on, they talk fast and eat lots of Italian food. I love my family! I haven't see them since dh deployed in 2004 when my mom, S & I we up to visit for a mth. S learned to walk while we were there, oh the memories!

New clothes

Check it out she has a new outfit. She had on an OLD pillowcase. I wanted to sew up a cover ever since I saw Jenn's on My Quilting Obsession . Yes, its the same print call me a copycat!

So I measured my machine and got it all cut out an sewn up. I added elastic on the bottom so it would be fitted. I haven't touched my machine in a while it felt good to escape to my lil sewing world.

We are having a lazy day today. The kids are napping and Georgia plays today, I hope they win.

Fabric stash

My fabrics needed some organization. Here is my stash that I have acquired since May, when I started sewing. U can click to enlarge. The retro love bug fabric on the top left is one of my favorites. My other favorite is one I picked up yesterday. Its the flannel in the middle far right in the second photo. They range from a yard to four yards..but most I bought at two yards.

Leave me a link so I can check out your stash!

Still alive

It's been rainy here. Actually, it was for the majority of Labor Day weekend. Here is a pic I took of S during the weekend. I love her eyes!

It's interesting to see the difference in both girls. I always wondered when I was preggo if both girls would look similar. I think they look opposite of each other. Altho they have the same nose shape. S looks like her daddy when he was little. H looks just like I did when I was a baby.

I finished up the knitted pants for H. Captured a toothless smile in the process too!

J took his first flight today. This is his last class before we leave. My SIL moves to Dallas, TX this weekend. Thats about all the news on this side of the world.

This n That

It's been so nice here lately it isn't so HOT.

H had a drs appointment yesterday. She is 14 lbs now. She saw a new doctor who just PCS'ed here...he was awesome. H was staring at him the entire time, she got her shots too. Last night she ran a little temp and has slept alot today.

S took her baby doll Hallie to the drs appt. After the dr was done with H and talking to me she wanted him to check her baby it was cute. So we head over across the hall for shots. I am telling S whats going on we are waiting for them to call our name so they call us and S is telling me she needs a shot too (before we left the house she was freaking out about her getting a shot) so I told her it wasn't her turn for a shot. H comes out in cute lil seasame street bandaids...S is admiring them. S says Momma, I really need a shot. What is up with bandaids? She gets a booster soon so lets see if she will want a shot then, joy joy! Another shot story

I am so close to getting a FREE gift certificate thru MyPoints!! I have about 1000 more points to rack up before I plan to cash out on a $25 Barnes & Noble gift certificate to get some books. They are offering a referral points right now so if u are interested shoot me an email or leave your info and I'll send ya a referral.

We have paper orders in hand..the countdown begins. I am excited to discover a new place to call home. We have been browsing homes on the net. J will be able to go hunting this season. I saw that they have a hockey team..I love hockey!! Oh, I get to experience the 4 seasons again...how much does it snow there? We will be getting all the moving stuff scheduled and plan our drive across the states. If u have any places to recommend to stop at along the way I'd love to hear it. SeaWorld in TX is the only thing on our list so far.

Evidence

Terrible two's?? I am gonna agree with my aunt..they should rename it to terrible three. Where did that sweet lil angel go?

I think she spotted some new bandaids on the shelf at the store so she needed a new excuse to get rid of the once sitting in the cabinet. Sesame street is outta date mom I need Dora. Really it could have been worse like a flood in the bathroom. I haven't found all the bandaids just the wrappers and empty box. I wish I had caught her in the act to be picture perfect.

WIP continued...

The progress continues...I found this soaker pattern Aubrey DoodlePants so it was worth a shot to try it out. My attempt was to make some pants for H to crawl around in. They are short length right now. I just have the legs left. I thought doing the crotch was gonna be hard but it was pretty easy following the video on www.knittinghelp.com

I'm gonna be crawling soon..she is rocking alot!!

What's it gonna be? Can ya guess?

I am "trying" to follow a pattern and learning some new stitches. I don't want to mess up!!!

Love, Hate...

Oy the Military....the never-ending love hate relationship!!!

Let's rewind a little.....

Back in May we were showing orders for Germany...Yikes! J showed me online and my heart fell to the floor because that was the LAST place I wanted to go after being in Hawaii aka The Rock. Hawaii isn't that bad it just gets old after a while, JMO. We were hoping for east coast. So hubby contacts his branch manager to let him know our situation and he was wonderful with working with us....so he changes it to Ft. Stewart which is where we wanted to go 3 hrs from my family in GA & SC. Wonderful being in the middle of everyone. Far enough away no one can just drop by but close enough for visits. If we liked it we were going to try to stay longer or he would get out.

Well, today he has a meeting and its been changed!! He calls since he shows Ft. Bragg he thought it was error because it was handwritten. So I check and its shows Ft. Bragg! He gets home and emailed the branch manager to check on it. I wonder how long its been showing Bragg.

What will happen next...stay tuned!

All things happen for a reason right?? The real estate market looks better in NC.

At least, we would still on the east coast and we can jump in the car and drive. We would still be 3 hrs from both my parents in SC and my grandparents in NC. It's the south which is where I want to be. NC is a pretty state too!!

Tuesday, August 22, 2006

Tuesday

I have had no crafting motivation but the house is CLEAN!! We are having beef stew tonight..it smells yummy. It's Big Brother night...I hope James goes home. My hubby does not like reality so I get to hear him analyze the show. I can't wait for the fall tv line up to start!

Tomorrow a friend from Hawaii arrives. Our hubbies worked together, I am excited to see them & the kiddos again. I know she is ready to be off that rock. Her hubby also reclassed (army lingo, changing jobs) so he will be here for the same schooling.

Off to finish dinner, watch tv...bathtime then bedtime!

UPS

So why is it when u are expecting a package the day creeps by?? I think we are the last ones on the route today!!

To be continued....

It's here! A knitting needles kit-that I snatched up while Joann's had 50% off online coupon last week. Now I need to get busy to make my purchase worthwhile. Anyone have suggestions on a beginner knitting book with simple patterns?

On another note! Hubby finished up simulators today, YAY!! We are getting closer moving away from the desert! An having TWO vehicles again oy I can't wait!

Little bit of this-n-that

Oy! This handbag again! I picked up some stiff interfacing but I couldn't find black with pink polka dot lining to go on the inside. So I just added the heavier interfacing & changed out the lining to the same black material that is on the bottom & added a pocket. The lining before looked & felt to thin to me. I wanted to add a decorative stitching around top it was a nightmare!! I broke my seam ripper and had to go pick up another one to finish tearing out the stitches. I tried again by trimming the extra material at the seams so I can get it thru the machine and it just didn't work. I liked the concept but wasn't worth the headache.
So this is what it looked like..it stands up on its own now.

Two squares, getting some practice with knitting.

A blanket...I had some left over yarn that I wanted to use up. I didn't know how large it would turn out but it's big enough for S's baby dolls. I love these colors.

For the Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting-a-long I want to mock this blanket so S will have one too. Just using more pink tones.

H was given this as a present when she was born from one of the nurses at the hospital, she is also a family friend. This blanket is beautiful in person. I Love it, love it, love it. I am going to use for the decor scheme in H's room once we move.

Art work

S drew this today. I asked if it had a name and she said, Calafonga. It looks like a character outta the "Monsters Inc." movie.

I love being a momma!

My baby

H is growing!!

A new milestone sitting. She is scooting on her belly and pushing with her feet she will be crawling soon enough. She loves to watch S play, its like she is filing it all way in the things to do file in her head.

Patterns

Things I'd like to make..

I orginally saw this crocheted Sitting Pretty dress in the Mary Maxim catalog. I have wanted to make it since I layed eyes on it. Well, I found that free pattern online. Isn't it cute? Mary Maxim's catalog shows the dress in pink and white. Those are the colors I'd use.

Also, found a knitted outfit that I think H would look cute in for this winter. It's shows that it's for a beginner. Here is a peek at it, Happy Baby.

I haven't sewn anything for myself but I found this pattern Butterick B4789, a twist top that I'd like to try.

I joined in this ring, they are working on quilts. I surfed back to see what other projects they have made handbags and tops. It's pretty neat to see what everyone makes.

This morning I got a email that Joann's will be having a sell on patterns, I wonder if its valid online too.

Pink Handbag

I am finally done with it my first completed handbag. I think this would make a cute diaper bag.

The bottom of the bag was a pain. I just used a solid black material for the lining. It's not as stable on the bottom as I wanted it. I guess I should have used a stronger fusible or a heavier material. The pink isn't coming out well in the photo, but its a pastel pink.

I was going to put the ribbon closer to the top with a lil bow but I thought it looked ok like this. I also thought maybe the ribbon was too wide for a bow. It feels like its a little plain in the pink section for some reason.

Your thoughts?

Dish Soap Apron

I came upon Knitty Gritty Thoughts while I was blog surfing. That is where I saw her dish soap apron. So I had to go print out a template from Super Eggplant.

Isn't it cute...they are soo easy to make. A great project for a beginner too.

Now, go dress up your nekkid soap bottle!
